Table 1. Required components
Component | Amount | Concentration |
MOPS (mw: 209.26 g/mol) | 20.9 g | 0.1 M |
Magnesium sulfate (mw: 120.37 g/mol) | 0.24 g | 0.002 M |
EGTA (mw: 380.35 g/mol) | 0.38 g | 0.001 M |
Sodium chloride (mw: 58.44 g/mol) | 29.2 g | 0.5 M |
- Prepare 800 mL of distilled water in a suitable container.
- Add 20.9 g of MOPS to the solution.
- Add 0.24 g of Magnesium sulfate to the solution.
- Add 0.38 g of EGTA to the solution.
- Add 29.2 g of Sodium chloride to the solution.
- Adjust the pH to 7.5 with NaOH.
- Add distilled water until the volume is 1 L.
- Sterilize the buffer using a 0.22-µm filter. The buffer can be stored at room temperature for several months.
