CAPS (0.5 M, pH 10.4) Preparation and Recipe
CAPS is used commonly for Western Blot applications and other protein sorting procedures. The very high pH of this buffer allows for identification and sequencing of peptides and proteins with high isoelectric points (pl or IEP).
To prepare L of CAPS (0.5 M, pH 10.4):

- Prepare 800 mL of dH2O in a suitable container.
- Add 110.66 g of CAPS to the solution.
- Adjust solution to desired pH using 10N NaOH.
- Add dH2O until the volume is 1 L.
