Where is RNA editing detected?

Answer
RNA editing has been detected in tRNAs, mRNAs, and rRNAs within mitochondrial, chloroplast and nuclear encoded RNAs. Their sites are mainly in noncoding regions of introns, and only a small portion of RNA editing occurs in coding regions. RNA editing is detected by RNA seq samples by using next generation sequencing techniques in order to identify and quantify the RNA of a biological sample at any time.
