Posted November 22, 2022

Answer

A Treg or Regulatory T cell represents a specialized subpopulation of T cells. Treg cells play a critical role in regulating or suppressing other cells in the immune system and maintaining immune equilibrium. They inhibit proliferation of T cells and production of cytokines, suppress immune response, prevent autoimmunity and help maintain homeostasis and self-tolerance.
