What is psoralen?

Psoralen is a compound derived from plants that becomes active when exposed to light. It is used in combination with UV light therapy to treat skin conditions like vitiligo, psoriasis, and certain types of skin nodules associated with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. Psoralen is a naturally occurring compound found in several plant species, including figs and citrus fruits.
