Posted August 26, 2024

Answer

Lymph possesses these physical properties, which allow it to effective transport nutrients, immune cells, and waste throughout the body:

  • It is a colorless fluid that is present in the lymph vessels and circulates through the lymphatic system.
  • It is composed of proteins, fats, glucose, salts, white blood cells (especially lymphocytes), and cellular waste.
  • It is slightly viscous and highly translucent.
  • The pH of lymph is slightly alkaline in nature.
  • It is a vascular connective tissue and also forms the tissue fluid that envelops body tissues.
