What are the disadvantages of Polyvinylidene Difluoride (PVDF) Membranes?

One con is that  PVDF membranes are typically more expensive than nitrocellulose membranes, which can increase the overall cost of experiments. These membranes also require pre-wetting with methanol before use, which adds an extra step to the experimental protocol.
