How do I change the concentration of a solution?

Posted August 23, 2023

Answer

The concentration of a solution can be changed by altering the amount of solvent or solute in a solution. For example, the addition of a solvent is known as a dilution, and as a result decreases the concentration of a solute in the solution. Increasing the solute would increase the concentration. In contrast, increasing the solvent would cause the solution to be less concentrated. Decreasing, or removing a solvent will result in an increase of concentration of the solution.
