Can the nucleus be found in all types of cells?

Posted July 12, 2023

Answer

The nucleus is found in nearly all eukaryotic cells. In general, there is only one nucleus per cell, but there are some exceptions. For example, skeletal muscle cells have more than one nucleus per cell also known as multinucleated cells. All prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus. Their genetic material is instead contained in the nucleoid, which contains DNA but is not enclosed within a membrane-bound nucleus.
