Where does the activation of bone remodeling occur?

Answer
Activation of bone remodeling occurs in bone multicellular units (BMUs), which are specialized units that contain bone cells and their precursor cells. The bone remodeling activation phase gets triggered when the bone lining cells are activated, which increases the surface expression of RANKL (Receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-Β ligand). The interaction between RANKL and its receptor RANK triggers osteoclast differentiation, which marks the end of the activation phase.
