What types of antibodies can be labeled using antibody labeling kits?

Posted April 18, 2023

Answer

Antibody labeling kits can be utilized to label monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies. These antibodies come from different host species like mice, rabbits, or hamsters. Monoclonal antibodies are created by a single clone of cells and are unique to a single epitope on the target protein. These antibodies are typically used in IHC, flow cytometry, and ELISA. They can be labeled with different fluorescent, radioactive, or enzymatic molecules. Polyclonal antibodies are created by multiple clones of cells and recognize several epitopes of the target protein. They are typically utilized in western blotting and immunoprecipitation experiments.
