What is the relationship between pH and temperature?

Answer
pH is inversely proportional to temperature. An increase in temperature results in lower pH levels while a drop in temperature results in higher pH levels. This is because, when the temperature within a solution rises, it increases molecular vibrations, facilitating ionization and the formation of more hydrogen (H+) ions. The higher number of H+ ions in the solution renders it more acidic, which is denoted by a lower pH. For example, water has a pH value of 7.47 at a temperature of 0°C. At 100°C it has a pH value of 6.14.
