Raoult's law states that the vapor pressure of a component in an ideal solution is directly proportional to its mole fraction in the solution and its vapor pressure in its pure state. In simpler terms, Raoult's law states that the presence of a non-volatile solute does not affect the vapor pressure of the solvent as long as the solution is ideal.
