Fractional distillation is a complex distillation technique by which components in a chemical mixture are separated into their individual parts, called fractions, based on their unique boiling points. This distillation method is used to separate miscible liquids that are volatile in nature and have almost similar boiling points. The separation is carried out in a fractionating column apparatus.
