What is Foxp3 transcription factor?

FOXP3 is a protein that regulates gene activity and is hence known as a transcription factor. FOXP3 is an abbreviation for Forkhead Box Protein 3. It is primarily expressed in a subset of CD4+ T-cells that play a suppressive role in the immune system.
