Answer

A solute is a substance that is dissolved in a solvent to form a solution. In a solution, the solute is present in smaller quantities compared to the solvent. In chemistry, salts such as sodium chloride (NaCl) and calcium chloride (CaCl2) are frequently used as solutes in aqueous solutions.
