What are the examples of moiety in biochemistry?

Answer

The R-groups or side chains of amino acids are considered moieties. Another example are phosphate groups in phosphorylated molecules (such as ATP or phosphorylated proteins). A third example is benzyl acetate, which contains two distinct moieties—acetyl and benzyl alcohol. Each of these moieties represents a specific functional group within the molecule.
