Protoplasm

Definition

The living part of a plant or bacterial cell, consisting of the plasma membrane and everything enclosed by it, excluding the cell wall

The living contents of a cell, consisting of the cytoplasm and all its organelles, including the nucleus

Occurrence

Found in plant and bacterial cells

Found in all living cells, both plant and animal

Composition

Essentially, it's a "naked" plant cell lacking the rigid outer structure provided by the cell wall

Viscous and colorless substance found inside cells. Can be divided into two parts: nucleoplasm and cytoplasm
