How is Akt activated?

Answer
AKTs are stimulated by various extracellular stimuli. AKT activity is regulated by the downstream of phosphatidylinositol 3 (PI3) kinases due to the extracellular stimuli. Akt is phosphorylated at two areas once it arrives at the plasma membrane, one within the T-loop of the catalytic domain (T308) by PDK1 and within the carboxyl terminal hydrophobic domain (Ser473) by mTORC2; this leads to the full activation of Akt.
