How do I measure basicity?

Basicity is measured by determining the amount of hydrogen ions (H+) produced when the acid is dissolved in water. This can be achieved through titration. One should observe the change in hydrogen ions (protons) during a chemical reaction. Before the reaction, tally the hydrogens in each substance. If the count increases after the reaction, the substance is the base as it accepts hydrogen ions. Additionally, the basicity of water can be determined by measuring its pH level. If the pH is above 7, it indicates that the water is alkaline.
