Answer
188 kDa
Glycogen phosphorylase is the enzyme responsible for glycogen breakdown in liver and muscle. It exists in two forms, unphosphorylated phosphorylase b and phosphorylase a with two Ser-PO42– groups. Glycogen phosphorylase is a dimer of two identical 94 kDa subunits. It has a total molecular weight of 188 kDa, which is equivalent to 188,000 g/mol.
