Latest News and Events: Update to Spectrum Viewer
Update to Spectrum Viewer
Our Spectrum Viewer is a tool that allows scientists to easily compare spectral data from our extensive catalog of fluorophores. They can then make informed decisions about which products suit their experimental goals and equipment (ie. lasers and filter sets). Since the Spectrum Viewer launch last summer, we have continually improved on its functionality.
Users can now add lasers at various common wavelength outputs to the spectrum viewer. Additional data accompanying each laser line is information such as common fluorochromes that function best with the chosen laser, as well as the popularity of the laser wavelength in the industry.
New Tools Added to the Website
Two new tools, our EC50/IC50 Calculator, and Protein Concentration Calculator, have been added to the website.
- The EC50/IC50 Calculator can be used to calculate either the concentration at which a substance exerts half of its maximal response, or the concentration at which a substance exerts half of its maximal inhibitory effects (respectively). Data can be entered directly from a Microsoft Excel table or manually.
- The Protein Concentration Calculator allows users to determine the concentration of a protein in their solution using information gained from a spectrophotometer (Absorbance at λmax).
The Upcoming American Heart Association®: Scientific Sessions 2017
Each year the AHA hosts Scientific Sessions, a conference convening to discuss and exchange new discoveries and applications for clinical care and research in the cardiovascular field. Their next meeting will be held from November 11th to the 15th in Anaheim, California. AAT Bioquest will be present at the conference, and we are excited to meet with attending researchers!
