Purified Mouse Anti-human/pig/cat GFAP Antibody *GF-01, monoclonal, Cross Adsorbed*
Glial fibrillary acidic protein is a protein with a molecular weight of 50 kDa, found in the cytoplasm, cytosol and intermediate filament of cells. Sequencing of glial fibrillary acidic protein has exemplified it contains a primary structural unit, the IF rod domain. Glial fibrillary acidic protein aids in protein-containing complex assembly and chaperone-mediated autophagy. It reacts with identical protein. It plays an important role in organismal processes, for example, intermediate filament organization. Mutations and abnormalities in glial fibrillary acidic protein have been associated with a number of diseases, namely, Alexander disease (ALXDRD). Alexander disease, an autosomal dominant inheritancedisorder characterized by hydrocephalus, progressive macrocephaly and increased CSF protein, has in particular been of interest to scientists.
