Anti-Hemoglobin (HGB) antibody *Mouse anti-human, monoclonal IgG1*
Hemoglobin (HGB) is an iron-containing metalloprotein present in red blood cells. For most of fetal development and adulthood, hemoglobin exists as a tetramer consisting of two alpha and two beta polypeptide chains. It is responsible for the transport of oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues and for the clearance of carbon dioxide from the body's tissues back to the lungs. In clinical biology, hemoglobin is an effective biomarker in fecal occult blood tests screening for colorectal cancer (CRC). Anti-HGB monoclonal antibodies are highly specific for the detection of human hemoglobin. They can be used for a broad range of immunoassays such as gold immunochromatography assays (GICA).
