Anti-Alpha-1-microglobulin protein antibody *Mouse anti-human, monoclonal IgG2b*
Alpha-1-microglobulin (A1M or protein HC) is a 26-kDa glycoprotein belonging to the lipocalin family. It is widely distributed in body fluids both in free form and complexed with immunoglobulin A (IgA). A1M acts as a radical scavenger. It protects cells and tissue against oxidative damage by binding and degrading heme as well as reductase. High concentrations of A1M in urine or serum may indicate acute kidney injury, proteinuria and nephropathy in type-2 diabetic subjects. Anti-A1M monoclonal antibodies are highly sensitive for the detection of AMBP proteins. They can be used for a broad range of immunoassays such as latex enhanced turbidimetric immunoassays (LETIA).
