Answer
Stem cell lines cultured in a lab are useful to researchers because they can be engineered for use in transplantation and for treating diseases. Researchers are also exploring ways to use stem cell lines to replace damaged genes or to add new genes to stem cells to overcome the problem of immune rejection. Stem cell lines have already led to innumerable medical breakthroughs that would have otherwise been impossible.
