There is a direct relationship between hydrogen ions in a solution and the pH of the solution.
The letters ‘pH’ denote the power of hydrogen ions. The pH of a solution is dependent on the hydrogen ion concentration in that solution where the pH value is the negative logarithm of the hydrogen ion concentration.
