What is the typical Kd value for an antibody?

Posted November 16, 2023

Answer

The typical Kd value of an antibody varies widely, and is dependent on the affinity of the antibody-antigen interaction. When the antibody sensitivity is micromolar, the Kd value is between 10^-4 to 10^-6. The Kd value lies between 10^-7 to 10^-9 when the antibody sensitivity is nanomolar. When the antibody sensitivity is picomolar, the Kd value is between 10^-10 to 10^-12. When the antibody sensitivity is femtomolar, the Kd value is between 10^-13 to 10^-15. The table below lists the Kd values and their corresponding concentrations which they bind at.

Kd value

Molar concentration (sensitivity)

10^-4 to 10^-6

Micromolar

10^-7 to 10^-9

Nanomolar

10^-10 to 10^-12

Picomolar

10^-13 to 10^-15

Femtomolar
