Answer
Apoptosis is a highly sophisticated and complex process that occurs over a series of steps. During the process, the cells exhibit several biochemical changes such as shrinkage of the cell, formation of blebs, condensation of chromatin, disintegration of nuclear envelope, fragmentation into membrane-bound apoptotic bodies, and speedy phagocytosis by neighboring cells.
