What are the sources of lipids?
Posted November 16, 2023
Lipids are obtained from several food and oil sources. Examples of oil sources include canola, sunflower, corn, olive, peanut, and soy oils. Foods such as butter, avocados, nuts, corn, and animal fats all contain high amounts of lipids. Lipids can be either solid or liquid at room temperature, which distinguishes whether they are fats or oils. Examples of good lipids include oils such as olive, sunflower, or corn, and foods including nuts, fish, and seeds. These are considered good fats since they are unsaturated and have less risks associated with diseases. In contrast, saturated fats such as butter, red meat, and cheese should be eaten in moderation since they can negatively affect health.
