What are the similarities between T helper and T cytotoxic cells?

Posted August 24, 2023

Answer

T helper and T cytotoxic cells are two types of T lymphocytes found in the blood that are involved in adaptive immunity. Their immune response is targeted toward a specific pathogen. T helper and cytotoxic cells are both types of white blood cells that are differentiated from the common lymphoid progenitor cells in the bone marrow. The T in their names is derived from thymus, the organ where both cells mature. Both T helper and T cytotoxic cells contain a type of T cell receptors, which help to identify pathogens.
