Answer
Despite their many differences, prokaryotes and eukaryotes have a few features in common. Both prokaryotes and eukaryotes have these features in common:
- Cell membrane
- Cytoplasm
- DNA as the genetic material – in prokaryotes it is circular and dispersed in the cell, whereas in eukaryotes it is linear and secured in the nucleus.
- Ribosomes – prokaryotes have smaller 70s ribosomes, whereas eukaryotes have larger 80s ribosomes.
- Similar basic metabolism
