Answer
Both positive and negative selection of T-cells play key roles in mediating adaptive immune responses. Both selection processes are involved in the development and maturation of T-cells.
Both selection processes take place in the thymus and both are equally important for helping the immune system function correctly. Presentation of self-antigens is a common occurrence in both positive and negative selection processes.
