What are the similarities between aerobic and anaerobic glycolysis?

Aerobic and anaerobic glycolysis are the first step of cellular respiration in two different types of glycolytic pathways. Both take place in the cytosol and both convert one 6-carbon glucose molecule into 2 pyruvate, 2 ATP and 2 NADH molecules, and water.
