What are the disadvantages of cDNA library?

A disadvantage of a cDNA library is that it contains only sequences that are present in mature mRNA. Another disadvantage is that introns and other sequences that are altered during transcription are absent in a cDNA library. Sequences such as promoters and enhancers, which are not transcribed into RNA, are not included in the library.
