- Responsible for producing antibodies
- Several types including naïve B cells, plasmablast, and plasma cells
- Functions including producing cytokines, secreting antibodies, and serving as antigen presenting cells
- All types of B cells except plasma cells can proliferate
Plasma cells
- Are a type of activated B cells
- Main function is to secrete antibodies
- Cannot proliferate further
