One advantage is that it can perform double immunostaining alongside peroxidase, for simultaneous visualization of both targets. Additionally, the PAP method is used for labeling specific cell types that benefit from the vivid red color of alkaline phosphatase substrates. It also enables greater dilution of the primary antibody and eliminates the need for chemical conjugation of molecules. Additionally, it has diminished background staining.
