What are molecular markers?

Posted June 4, 2024

Answer

Molecular markers are DNA fragments or DNA sequences that are associated with a specific recognized location on a chromosome. They are also known as genetic markers. In a whole chromosome or in an unknown DNA pool, molecular markers act as identification tools, helping in the identification of a specific DNA sequence at a particular location.
