Answer
After migration, melanocytes are found to exist in the skin, ducts of sebaceous glands, hair follicles, inner ear, and uveal tract. In the skin, melanocytes exist in the stratum basale of the epidermis and follicular epithelium. In the hair, these cells are located in the proximal bulb of each hair follicle. In the uveal tract, melanocytes are found in the anterior pole of the eyeball and function to block visible and infrared light and UV radiation. Melanocytes also exist in various parts of the inner ear including the stria vascularis in the cochlea where they contribute to endolymph homeostasis.
