Do plant cells contain mitochondria?

Answer
Plant cells do contain mitochondria, as they require ATP for necessary cellular functions. They use oxygen to break down some of the sugar they create in order to generate the ATP. In the daytime, plant cells also utilize the mitochondria to generate energy for the cell through photosynthesis. At night time, they produce energy through cellular respiration. However, much more energy is produced through photosynthesis.
