What is the difference between uses of Agarose gel electrophoresis and Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis?

Answer
Agarose gel electrophoresis has lower resolution and is good for analyzing larger molecules. It is generally easier to prepare and takes less time to run. On the other hand, polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) has higher resolution and is suitable for analyzing small molecules, such as miRNA.
