Answer
Histotypic culture is a three-dimensional culture of one cell type. In this type of 3D culture, the growth and propagation of one cell line is done in an engineered three-dimensional matrix to reach high cell density. The advantage with Histotypic culture is that dispersed monolayer cultures can be used to regenerate tissue-like structures.
