Is next-generation sequencing (NGS) better than Sanger sequencing?

Answer
While next-generation sequencing is faster and much more cost effective when sequencing a high number of gene targets or a whole genome, Sanger sequencing is still more cost for sequencing smaller numbers of targets or samples. In addition, Sanger sequencing is also useful for validating NGS results due to its high accuracy.
