How does CRISPR-Cas9 edit genes?

Answer
CRISPR-Cas9 cuts genes by creating a double-strand breaks (DSB) in the DNA. Then innate DNA repair mechanisms are automatically triggered within the cell, which can either leave the sequences deleted or insert specific sequences of interest, resulting precise gene editing.
