Immunoglobulin μ heavy chain is a protein with a molecular weight of 74 kDa, located in the extracellular region, plasma membrane and immunoglobulin complex of cells. In humans, immunoglobulin μ heavy chain is an integral part of organismal processes, for example, adaptive immune response. Sequencing of Immunoglobulin μ heavy chain has shown it contains 5 conserved structural units: Ig-like 1, Ig-like 2, Ig-like 3, Ig-like 4 and Ig-like 5 domain.
