CUG [3-Carboxyumbelliferyl beta-D-galactopyranoside] *CAS 64664-99-9*

CUG is a fluorogenic galactosidase substrate with carboxy reactive handle that can be used for conjugation. The organic and inorganic esters and glycosides of 7-hydroxycoumarin are among the most commonly used fluorogenic substrates. These substrates yield water-soluble blue fluorescent coumarin fluorophores upon interaction with enzymes.
