Anti-Testosterone antibody *Mouse anti-human, monoclonal IgG2b*
Testosterone is an anabolic steroid and the primary sex hormone in males. It is produced primarily in the male testes, but is also produced to a lesser extent in the adrenal glands, female ovaries and placenta. In males, testosterone plays a vital role in the maturation of reproductive organs, the development of secondary sex characteristics, the growth of muscle mass and the increase in bone density. In medicine, testosterone is used therapeutically in the treatment of various conditions such as infertility, osteoporosis and bone marrow stimulation. Anti-testosterone monoclonal antibodies are highly sensitive for the detection of testosterone immunogens. They can be used for a broad range of immunoassays such as ELISA.
