FMOC-Glu(biotinyl-PEG)-OH

This PEG biotin-labeled amino acid has excellent solubility in DMF and other solvents used in SPPS. It is an excellent alternative to FMOC-Lys(biotin)-OH (#5020) due to its improved solubility in both organic solvents and water. In addition, the PEG-spacer reduce the hindrance between the target peptide and avidin, leading to better biotin binding. The hydrophilic nature of the PEG minimizes non-specific interactions that can arise from the spacer group becoming buried in the hydrophobic pocket of proteins.
